Roy woke up before our 5:30 alarm this morning with another episode of dizziness along with nausea. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to get dressed and into the van for his appointment in Summerside at 8. I gave him some gravol, got him dressed and went to work with getting Jonathan ready. I knew I wouldn't be able to manage getting Roy in and out of the van plus watch Jonathan so I woke Allison up to lend me a hand. Thank God the kids are so great for helping out with everything! We were on the road by 6 and made it to Summerside well before the appointment.
In a way, I'm glad Roy had his episode this morning before his appointment because Dr. Campos got to see first hand what it's like for Roy during an attack. When they called us into the room the doctor was standing in the hallway outside the door and the expression on his face said it all. I could tell he was disappointed to see Roy feeling this way. We explained how Roy had an episode on Friday and again this morning and how his ear felt very full. Dr. Campos examined Roy's ear and asked if he was okay with doing the 3rd injection. Roy said "We drove all this way so we better do something!" I could tell it hurt really bad this time and I felt awful knowing I couldn't do anything to help. Allison stayed in the waiting room with Jonathan watching Max & Ruby while the procedure was being done. Have I mentioned just how amazing our kids are in helping with all of this? I don't know what we'd do without them.
Roy handled the injection well despite it looking very painful to me as the observer. He said it wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be given how he was feeling. Dr. Campos wants to see Roy again on the 29th to perform a 4th injection. He said we'll give it a week and see how Roy responds then determine next steps. I read on other forums that it can take upwards of 4 injections to start noticing an improvement so we'll see. When I got home this evening Roy was awake and sitting up in the kitchen so that was a pleasant surprise coming home!
Still no word from the neurologist office in Moncton but I have their number and will call tomorrow to ask about an appointment date. I'm hoping it will be very soon.
Despite all the driving done today I still managed to get my workout done which felt great. I'm pretty sure if it was possible to sweat smores they would be coming out my pores lol.
Thank you to everyone for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers!
