Well we're back from camping at the Cornwall KOA and the weather was lovely. No heavy rain this weekend compared to last weekend which was a blessing - thank you GOD! I was a little worried Thursday night because it wasn't 30 seconds after posting the picture of the fire on Facebook that the rain started. All I could think was "Frig not again??" But the rain didn't last all weekend so I'm happy! The kids and I got to enjoy some quality time in the pool, hayrides and lots of walking. :) Packing up the popup is no fun in the rain especially when you have to unpack it once you get home so the canvas doesn't get the beds wet. Anyhow, everything was dry this morning so no fussing with that. The camper can stay stowed away until our next trip scheduled trip September 8th & 9th for Halloween. The kids can barely wait. Alex is already making plans to design his own Iron Man costume. :-)
As I talked about in my last blog post, Roy had his second steroid injection on Wednesday of last week. The specialist said the shots are 95% effective so we had high hopes on this working. Thursday morning Roy made it to work but found his ear really bothered him by feeling very full. I thought we should cancel the camping trip given we didn't know for sure what was going to happen but Roy insisted we go and have a good time. Everything went well Thursday night and Friday morning started off okay with a morning walk but quickly went downhill after that. Roy had a vertigo attack that lasted the remainder of the day and couldn't get out of bed until about 7:30 pm. We're all pretty disappointed that the injection hasn't seemed to make a bit of difference in terms of his attacks, although I have read on different forums that it can take until the 4th injection for any improvements to be noted. I'm very anxious to meet with the specialist tomorrow morning at 8am to let him know what happened and hear what he has to say. Surely there's something else that can be done?? Otherwise we're still waiting for the referral call to see the specialist in Moncton. I hope that happens as soon as possible!!
Back to camping - the kids and I, along with my Dad decided to partake in chocolate bar bingo again! I won 10 bars last weekend and this weekend it was Alex's turn to win. The way it works is that you bring a bar and for every bar you bring you get a card. There are 3 games of bingo. The first 2 games are for 1 line and the 3rd and final game you play for 2 lines. Depending on the number of people who show up to play you either win a lot of bars or a few. Having said that, our first time camping at the KOA the games went for 50 to 60 bars as a prize but this time they were smaller at 5/10/15 but with fewer people playing the odds were still in our favor! Needless to say, I'll be wearing my baggy jeans and summer dresses until I can work off some of this camping food. ;-) Mmmm chocolate! LOL.
Anyhow, tomorrow will be a busy day so I'm going to keep this blog post short. We have to leave Montague a little after 6 to be in Summerside for 8am. Then I have to drive back to Montague with Jonathan then back to Ch'town for work. It's going to be a lot of driving!
I'll do another blog post tomorrow to update how our appointment went. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
