Wendy

Thanks for sharing this Kimmy; it was fun to read. Considering Richard Atkins began his work in the early 60's, a low carb approach was common. I recall my Father dieting in around 1965 -- removed all the starchy carbs from his diet and lost about 180 pounds. Of course, it was also the era of 'butter' substitutes hitting the market (butter buds I recall) and artificial sweetener. The 'diet' industry has always been with us, I'm afraid. Doesn't seem like it is going anywhere any time soon either. In fact, it seems to get fatter and fatter (richer) off our fatter and fatter world. Sigh.
